My study is about organic-inorganic hybrid material. Do you know about this material?
This material has superior property. Around us, there is some kind material, and almost material can be classified into organic material and inorganic material. The characteristics of organic materials are flexibility, impact resistance, light and easy to process. But heat resistance is low. In other hand, the characteristics of inorganic materials are durability, heat resistance. But heavy and product cost is high. In this way, each material has an advantage and fault. Improve this faults, organic-inorganic hybrid material attracts attention. This material is fabricated by mixing both organic and inorganic materials. So this material can improve the each material’s faults and have both material advantages. To fabricate this material, I use poly vinyl butyral(PVB). This material has superior property, for example, good adhesive property, can obtain the resin with the transparency, high solubility for organic solution, hydrophilicity, and so on. Now, this material is used as interlayer of safety glass in using a car, binder of ink and paint, and so on. Recently, some researchers using this material for preparing separate membranes. This membrane is used for separating substance. And if this membrane has a hollow structure like tube, the property of separation is more improving. So my object of my study is preparing organic-inorganic hybrid tube which using PVB. And this material has a property which is good adhesive with some material. So I would like to make hybrid material that have some property by using PVB. Generally, to make the hollow structure, using a two-layer structure, but in my method, don’t need to use a two-layer structure. In my study, I’m using a dope solution of PVB and a coagulate solution of zirconium. To make the hollow structure, I’m using a reaction which happen between PVB and zirconium. First, I preparing the dope solution and coagulate solution. And then, by wet-spinning method, I make the hybrid tube. Till now, I could obtain some result. I could make the hybrid hollow fiber which containing PVB and zirconium by using a new method. And If change the condition of making tube, I could make some different tube which have some diameter. To continue my study, I would like to solve the mechanism why tube is formed. In the future, I would like to use other kind tube which include other material by same method. And I would like to make a tube which have superior properties. |
